Look at this gorgeous wall hanging my clever girl Laurie made for me! It’s so beautiful I was really sad to put it away after the festive season. She put so much care into all the little details & has created an heirloom.
She made up the base with 8 squares of contrasting green & red printed fabrics. She then appliquéd each square with a fun motif…
How jolly is this Santa???
Once finished she added a wadding layer & a plain green backing then a burgundy bias binding edgeing with some hanging loops. I bought a cheap ( less than a fiver) brass rod from Dunelm Mill so I could hang it on my living room door…stunning.
my favourite christmas fabric this year was this lush gingerbread man print .Heres a selection of christmas themed patterns that Laurie took inspiration from for this project. I buy them all from eBay from an extremely talented UK designer that goes by the name of Prim Linz, she does all sorts of folksy style cushion covers & soft toys so check her out.
